From the Workshop
Yes, I quit my job half a year ago (getting tired of telling the same story over and over again). I'm spending a year studying because, as cheesy as it sounds, I really do want to use my skills to help people. Anyway,
It's been a productive week. Spend a few days in the shop creating a prototype on a thingy for old people. (Top secret ha ha ha!). I didn't know breathing sawdust is incredibly unhealthy and got an allergic reaction for two days.
So far the thingy works just as well as I hope. Which worries me somewhat now because my instructor asked me to extend it into a family of products instead of just one thing. So much work to be done on so little time.
Today I took a break from woodworking to sketch out rudimentary side views for a concept baby stroller I'm working on. I still don't know how I'm going to build this, but somehow I'll manage after freaking out a bit.
I am scared. I really have no idea what I'm doing and it's strange seeing familiar faces at school. I swear I'm not a remedial student...I have a plan...I guess. Oddly though, I'm enjoying this process and it does feel good to grow.
Tomorrow, I'll be back in the woodshop making two more prototypes. No doubt I'll be covered in sawdust again, but that's what the rain is for right? Free shower.
