Nils Lindstrom of Art Center
Nils Lindstrom is the professor of Typography 1: Letterforms, and Advanced Lettering, at Art Center College of Design.

I met him in 2011; he was my first typography teacher. From the very first day, he intimidated us by walking up to the chalkboard, and hand lettering a perfectly rendered Caslon alphabet in seconds. Through the years, he’s continued to astound me with his ability to be absolutely perfect and precise, despite being one of the funniest, goofiest people I know.

When Nils turned 60 this year, I wanted to send him some thing drawn with the discipline that he taught me to, that still has that funny witty personality that he has.

I think a handlettered card is the only proper way to wish Happy Birthday to the master of lettering!
